    > PRESS RELEASE REGARDING CIVIL ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLAINT

    October 20, 2009, Houston, TX

CES and PACES have engaged the law firm of Camara & Sibley to respond to the civil environmental complaint filed by Attorney General Greg Abbott today. CES provides essential waste management and recycling services in Houston. PACES manufactures chemicals. CES and PACES are model corporate citizens who have done their utmost to comply with the onerous regulations imposed on their industry and who have brought hundreds of jobs to Houston and Port Arthur.

State regulators have already raised all of the violations alleged in the Attorney General's complaint with CES and PACES. CES and PACES have responded by offering detailed evidence refuting these allegations and have even instituted remedial measures that go well beyond what the law requires. CES and PACES have always cooperated fully with local, state, and federal regulators.

CES and PACES will continue to work with state regulators to ensure that their business, and the jobs it creates in Houston and Port Arthur, can continue.
